Cancel your plans tonight- you have new plans. You’re going to Prezza for dinner. Ok, it’s a tad on the pricey end, but you MUST have something to celebrate, no?
I went last night with Momma Tallo, for our annual fancy dinner date there. A few years ago I had been with my Dad and fallen in love with the place. It’s on par with Sorrelina, fancy italian & all, but this is the real deal in the North End. The food is spectacular, wine list is great, I just love it. It was a bit loud in there last night, there were several large group tables of rather wealthy & important looking men with a smattering of deer in headlights junior associates. I looked at my Mom and said, “Ok, you get the bosses, I’ll take the juniors.” High five. Oh, and speaking of older people dating, there is a something on their cocktail menu called “Cougar Juice.” Yikes.
We go because it’s nice to treat ourselves every once in awhile, and we go to Prezza around March/April every year for the ravioli. Their menu depends a lot on seasonal ingredients and they have a rotating ravioli or raviolini. Every Spring, it’s Pea raviolini, with bits of ham, more spring peas on top and a mascarpone cream. SO DELICIOUS. I apologize, I have no photos. Yesterday was outta control at work and I rushed home to change and forget to pick up my camera, and my iPhone doesn’t have a flash and it’s pretty dark in there, so, not optimal for photos.
I did try something new this time- I ordered the Roasted Portobello appetizer. Oh dear. So good. Roasted Portobellos in a roasted tomato sauce on top of creamy polenta with parmesan. To die for. The portobellos were meaty and hearty, the roasted tomato sauce was just enough to contrast the earthiness of the ‘shrooms and the polenta! Oh. So good & cheesy. You must go. You have no choice, now that you’ve read this. Mangia!
You ate mushrooms! I’m so proud 😀
