Abe & Louie’s, 793 Boylston St Boston, Massachusetts
I’ve had my fair share of steak around this town, and Babes & Losers, as my Dad calls this place, has been fantastic & consistent every time.
This is the kind of place which is enjoyed only for special occasions (see: I sold my car and got paid in a wad of cash) or when your parents take you (thanks Dad!). Abe & Louie’s has one of the most extensive wine lists and is the only place I’ve found in Boston that serves one of my favorite pinot noirs. I always order the filet mignon, it’s my favorite cut and they do a version with peppercorn flare. Cooked medium it was warm and juicy, and surrounded by this phenomenal peppercorn glaze that had quite the kick to it! The steak was great, sides were pretty good, but I was really just there for the filet. I just can’t seem to get it quite right at home so I’ll leave that for now to the professionals.
