After what was an amazing spring day here in Boston, we were dragged back in to the gloom that has settled over the city. What better on a gray Sunday morning than a fresh warm scone and a cup of tea? Not much I tell ya.
I had bought a bag of mini cinnamon scones while at the King Arthur flour store and had been debating what to do with them. I have a soft spot for the Starbucks’ Cinnamon Scone, but at a whopping 400+ calories, it’s not exactly doing me any favors. When I spied the chips at King Arthur I thought, “Oh yay! Now I can make my own and not feel as guilty about it.”
Sunday was the perfect morning to do so. It took barely anytime at all, and I had most of the ingredients on hand. I did not have cream, only 1% milk, but you know, it worked out ok. I also decided that they needed the icing, just because.
Make these this weekend and you’ll be very happy. I promise.
