It wasn’t flashy, it wasn’t fancy, it wasn’t an over-the-top, big showy hotel affair. But it was perfect. A warm, breezy, perfect fall day. I wish I had more pictures of the farm and the setting, but I’m sure there will be more floating around the web soon. I took pictures of the important things- the food. 🙂 And flowers.
My friend S looked amazing, her husband and his best men looked dashing in their suits and grey Chuck Taylors even all the guests all looked great. You really couldn’t have ordered a better day. After a lovely ceremony/exchange of vows, we had snacks & drinks, took photos, and enjoyed the weather. I got a chance to catch up with friends I hadn’t seen in awhile, and everyone was having a great time. Seeing as I had been running around setting things up for most of the day, I missed lunch and was so hungry. I could not wait for dinner to be served, and yes, it was bbq.
This is what the table settings looked like- in the middle were the gifts, home-made salsa and salsa seasoning.
And that is a crayon. The tables were covered in white paper, and guests were encouraged to color/doodle throughout dinner.
Now, this being bbq, it is known to be messy, and my friend S is no fool. She had this stashed away and put it on at dinner to make sure her dress stayed free & clear of bbq sauce
As for me, I was wearing a black dress that I got on ridiculous sale so I wasn’t too concerned about keeping it pristine. The meal was amazing, some of the best pulled pork I’ve had in awhile. The farm (Verrill Farm in Concord MA) did the catering, it was delicious. And then, there were the cupcakes
I took a time-out from dancing and grabbed a cupcake, it was pretty phenomenal.
Everything was as it should be, lots of friends, love, good food & celebrating. It was such a wonderful representation of S & her husband, N. I’m really not doing it justice right now, my brain is still not completely back to functioning. The bartender decided that since the bottle of prosecco was almost empty, the small wine glasses were not big enough to finish it off, so he poured me a solo cup of prosecco. Really? Sir, do I look like I need to black-out this evening? Don’t worry, I shared, but oh man. That was a lot of bubbly!
Congrats you two!! I wish you both many many years of happiness & health, love & good cooking. I’m so glad I was there to share it with you.
