Hi folks. I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. It was certainly eventful around here! The weather this weekend was phenomenal, I had some really good times outside of La Cucina. Another great brunch at The Friendly Toast, I tried the Guy Scramble, so good. They also serve the most gigantic mimosas. Great start to my weekend!
Inside of La Cucina though it’s been a little tricky. Boston has been blessed by a freak accident known as a major water main break. This is how I had to wash my dishes this morning, so that I could make my coffee, with bottled water:
The normal things I would do around the house I have to second guess, I had to rinse my blueberries with bottled water today, and rinse my toothbrush in bottled water. It’s been like this since Saturday and will probably continue for another couple of days. So much for being environmentally responsible and not drinking bottled water.
Otherwise, there’s not a lot to report. I made some tasty applesauce last week (it’s not pretty, but it’s delicious.) I had wanted to make a pie, but the more recipes I searched for, the more I realized that my apples, McIntosh, really weren’t the right type. So I went for applesauce.
