Hi friends. It’s been a few days, my apologies. There has been a lot going on in the kitchen, figuratively speaking. Over the weekend, I got quite the surprise, my roomie is leaving. I thought La Cucina might have to move, but, it looks like instead I will just be getting a new roommate, and
Arthur, great company in the kitchen
losing my sous chef.
Alas, La Cucina remains firmly in Beacon Hill. Thank goodness because one place I looked at had a mini-fridge under the sink and the microwave apparently functioned as an oven. Yeah. right.
Otherwise, this weekend was not too eventful, had leftover pizza, and could barely eat on Sunday, save for an afternoon snack. (ie: too much birthday fun Saturday night for my bff Clare)
Anywho, I digress.
What better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon, than to make a nice warm treat: soft pretzels
. Mmmm. A co-worker, (shocking, I know) made some a few weekends ago and ever since I have wanted to attempt it myself. Doesn’t hurt that B loves them too. So off we go. And, yes, it’s a Martha Stewart Recipe. (At least it’s not Everday Food again!) I found this recipe to be one of the simpler ones when I search online, and it was pretty quick as well. This time I actually made my own dough, rather than the cop-out from last Friday.
That was the excitement of the weekend, I hope to have a few more interesting things this week, for now you can enjoy a lovely shot of my delicious cappucino from Caffe Vittoria on Saturday.
(ps – it was darn near impossible to not order tiramisu, I’m not really sure where that self-control came from.)
