C’est francais pour, part two.
Ahh, Friday. This one was busy, and to top if off, I had a lecture from 4:30-7:00. Once I got home I wanted 3 things: a tasty dinner, a glass of wine, and to watch Apolo Oh No! Ohno get another medal. Hey, 2 outta 3 ain’t bad.
On my way home from class I stopped at the store to pick up some last-minute supplies, cheese, tomatoes, basil, & the makings for dough. Yes friends, it’s pizza night. I did not have the patience to make my own dough and let it rise and all that jazz, so I cheated and bought the Whole Foods prepared dough- it is all natural. After this week I needed a bit of a break somewhere!
I settled in back at the apt., poured some wine, and got to cooking. I made a version of this sauce to use as the pizza sauce, this time though I bought a large can of crushed tomatoes.
I prepared the dough after reading some tips online from Ms. Smitten, which included using the back of a baking sheet, parchment paper, and cornmeal.
I used a mix of cheese, shredded mozz, and some grated parm and pecorino for a little bite.
Put this on top of the sauce, and into the oven it goes!
I let this bake for about 15 minutes at 450, let it cool just a tad, added some basil et voila!
