I’ve decided on a task, to set my blog apart, I’ll be tracking my progress on my personal challenge to eat real food. Though not devoutly religious, it is important to me and I do observe the traditional Christian holidays. One of the biggest being the season of Lent leading up to Easter. Many Catholics and Protestants alike take this time (40 days and 40 nights) to reflect on their lives and in turn, give up something. People give up anything and everything, but, for most people I know, it ends up being some sort of food vice – soda, french fries, chocolate, or renewal a New Year’s resolution of sorts. I’m taking this to another level and giving up processed food altogether.
The actual challenge begins next Wednesday, February 17th, Ash Wednesday on the religious calendar. Until then, I have to go finish a box of cheezits.
What are you giving up for lent?
