It’s been an exciting couple of weeks… Bri-guy has closed on his new condo in the South End (it’s adorbs) and we’ve been busy getting it all ready for the big move. We were able to have the first dinner in the unfurnished place last weekend.
In typical guy fashion in his current furnishings are limited, but now that he’ll have a more permanent spot for a few years it was time to get some real grown-up furniture and set-up home. Last weekend we had quite the trip to the ‘burbs – Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ikea, Jordan’s. whew!
Also in typical guy fashion, what was the first purchase and priority? The grill. He has a nice lil’ deck out back and wanted a big Weber grill for it. And of course that was the first thing he bought and wanted to assemble immediately to be able to grill dinner that night. We make a pretty good assembly team (we did Ikea furniture later in the week).
B was also excited to open a nice bottle of wine he had got for the occasion, use his new decanter (from yours truly) and pick up steaks from down the street at The Butcher Shop. So ok, we weren’t really roughing it, but there were camping chairs involved.
I like a guy who knows what’s important… good food & wine. But, I’ll be excited to sit on the couch when it arrives.
This upcoming weekend is one of my Fall favorites… the Head of the Charles Regatta… I’ll be sure to share the adventure, and also some home redecorating of my own!! What can I say, it’s contagious.
